BunnyMob G-House mix for Insomniac

The first time I heard rap vocals in straight-up house music was probably C&C Music Factory's "Gonna Make U Sweat" (don't even lie, you know it) and while the rapping was nowhere close to good, it made the track hype and gave it personality. Rap in house music is no new thing, but it's back in a big way these days -- so much so it's amassed into it's own micro-genre called G-House (G is for Gangsta, fool).House music? Good. Rap music? Good. It's like the old chocolate and peanut butter adage.

When it first became a thing last year with Rob Made's Sleazy G imprint, it felt like the genre could really go places. Increasingly though, the production factor is getting homogenous with its simplified, syncopated synth lines and samples from hood tracks. Before it goes out with a gangsta funk whimper, I want to hip you to some of the best producers making the stuff, encapsulated by an hour-long mix Ian and I made and an accompanying article I wrote for Insomniac. Hope I'm off base about the future of this stuff, because while it's not worldwide trending on the Twitter or anything, it absolutely RIPS up dance floors and is really fun to play
